經理說 I’m working from home today. 稍後你轉告同事：She said she was working from home that day. 這不再是逐字引用，而是把信息放進新的說話視角，必要時也調整時間和地點。
看看句子是怎樣搭起來的。
Subject + said (that) + reported clause
先把整句當作一個意思來讀，再觀察每一部分的作用。
理解每一種選擇。
在過去時報告動詞後，時態常後移：am 變 was，have finished 變 had finished，will 變 would。如果信息仍然真實或與當前直接相關，也可能保留原時態，要結合語境。
say 後接說的內容；tell 通常先接人：She said that she was busy. / She told me that she was busy. 轉述請求時可用 ask + 人 + to 不定式：She asked me to call later.
轉述問題用陳述語序：He asked where I lived. 一般疑問句用 if 或 whether：He asked whether I was free. 代詞和時間表達僅在視角需要時改變；如果仍是同一天，today 不必機械改成 that day。
放進場景，句子才真正有用。
She told me the room was ready.
tell 後帶接收信息的人 me。
He asked if I needed a taxi.
if 引出轉述的一般疑問句。
They asked us to wait outside.
ask + 人 + to 不定式轉述請求。
改一點，表達就準確一點。
注意避免She said me that she was tired.
可以這樣說She told me that she was tired.
使用 told me 或 said to me；此處 said 不直接接人。
